What are some important qualities of a good supervisor?
Even though job situations can be very different, there are several qualities that all good supervisors have in common. A good supervisor treats her employees fairly. Most important of all, she acts as a good example for her employees. She treats all her employees with equal respect and doesn`t have favorites. She uses the same set of criteria to evaluate each employee’s performance. She doesn`t let her personal feelings about an individual influence her treatment of him. A good supervisor gives clear and understandable directions. She also doesn`t get angry when an employee is confused and needs more explanation.
Employees are more likely to do the best job they can when they are treated fairly, given good directions, and have a good example in front of them. This is why good supervisors are so important for the success of any type of business.
