Opening of the American space in the Pankisi Valley By: Muslim Borchashvili

30th of June 2023, was a very important day for the Roddy Scott Foundation and the Pankisi Valley, where everyone could not hide their emotions, Because the US Ambassador to Georgia madam Kelly Degnan visited us and opened the American space in the Pankisi Valley, with the support of the US embassy Tbilisi, Georgia.

Pankisi’s American shelf was opened at the Roddy Scott Foundation. The students of the Roddy Scott Foundation, access program participants, local self-government representatives, different American spaces coordinators in Georgia, parents and teachers were present at the opening ceremony, as well as the representatives of the United States Embassy. Madam Ambassador addressed these people at the opening ceremony and spoke about our partnership and the importance of American spaces, and guests also spoke. She cut red ribbon and big ceremony cake, The American Embassy gave us board games and English language books for Pankisi youth to develop their English language skills, a modern American shelf  is important  for young people and the residents of Pankisi valley will raise awareness about the relations between America and Georgia, about USA, human rights, as well as the our Euro-Atlantic future. after the opening American space ambassador had meeting with students of the RSF, we students asked her different questions then we took pictures with ambassador Degnan, also our coordinator of the Pankisi American shelf is Malvina Mutoshvili. Thanks to US Embassy Tbilisi, Georgia and madam ambassador Kelly Degnan for supporting us.
